Roots emerged from a straightforward idea and a determination to bring it to life. In 1973, Michael Budman and Don Green founded Roots. They were driven by their love for Ontario’s Algonquin Park and all it symbolized for them. Originating in Toronto with footwear, Roots expanded to incorporate high-quality leather bags, jackets, accessories, their iconic salt & pepper sweats, natural fiber clothing, and home furnishings. The leather goods have always been and remain crafted in Canada at our Toronto factory.
